Fatigue Testing

CTE has built up a significant fatigue testing capability over the years and now has:-

  • 5 x Instron 8801 100kN Servo Hydraulic Fatigue Machines
  • An Instron 8802 250kN Over Head Actuator with lowered T-Slot Bed Servo Hydraulic Fatigue Machine
  • An Instron 8872 25kN Over Head Actuator with lowered T-Slot Bed Servo Hydraulic Fatigue Machine
  • 5 Instron Dynamic Extensometers for Strain Controlled Testing
  • All fatigue machines have adaptive temperature based frequency control that allow us to vary the speed whilst maintaining the specimen temperature to prevent overheating of the specimens
  • The Fatigue Machines are supplied by 2 Instron Power Packs to a fitted ring main with a max flow rate of ~180lpm
  • We are continuously adding to this capability

Fatigue Testing

  • CTE can generate full S-N Curves including curve fitting and B-Basis curve determination on a full range of R Ratios
  • CTE can perform standard fatigue coupon testing or bespoke component/structural element fatigue testing
  • CTE can design and manufacture bespoke fixturing for fatigue testing
  • CTE performs fatigue testing on a full range of non-metallic and metallic materials
